This Week:
- We focused on the letter Rr.
- We learned the words white, of, and you.
- We learned words in the -ig word family.
- We read a story called The Mitten and practiced retelling it.
- We worked on composing and decomposing numbers.
- We learned about Martin Luther King, Jr.
Next Week:
- We will focus on the letter Dd.
- We will learn the words and, said, and zero.
- We will read some stories about winter.
- We will work on teen numbers and finding numbers that are one more and one less than a number.
What to Ask Your Kindergartener:
- To point to different objects around your house and tell you what letter they start with.
- To count as high as they can.
- To rubber band (stretch out to hear all sounds) the words: frog, sing, ten, chip, wait, get, tree, stack, and win.
- To tell you what sound they hear at the end of: bike, fell, fox, run, and pig.
- To write their numbers to 20 with no reversals.

- There is no school on Monday 1/20.
- We have been learning and spelling all the color words. We will have a color week in our classroom the week of 1/27 and 2/3. The schedule of what color to wear each day is below. A paper copy will be in the cheetah binder next week.
